Monitoring passerine reproduction by constant effort ringing: evaluation of the efficiency of trend detection

چکیده
avian populations is more than a century old (Greenwood 2009). In the first decades of bird ringing, the method was applied almost exclusively to answer questions about avian migration; how far do birds fly and which routes do they take? Beginning in the late 1960s, ornithologists began to monitor breeding population sizes using standardised mist netting (Robinson et al. 2009). Later the focus shifted to the study of processes underlying population change, namely the determination of demographic parameters such as birth and death rates, leading to the foundation of the first nation-wide constant effort scheme in Great Britain and Ireland in 1986 (Peach et al. 1996). The Dutch constant effort site (CES) programme followed in 1994 and since then has been continuously operated by hundreds of enthusiastic citizen scientists under the direction of the Vogeltrekstation – Dutch Centre for Avian Migration Monitoring passerine reproduction by constant effort ringing: evaluation of the efficiency of trend detection

EFFICIENCY EVALUATION OF PROPOSED OBJECTIVE FUNCTIONS IN STRUCTURAL DAMAGE DETECTION BASED ON MODAL STRAIN ENERGY AND FLEXIBILITY APPROACHES
Civil infrastructures such as bridges and buildings are prone to damage as a result of natural disasters. To understand damages induced by these events, the structure needs to be monitored. The field of engineering focusing on the process of evaluating the location and the intensity of the damage to the structure is called Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). Early damage prognosis in structures...
متن کاملHeritability of parental effort in a passerine bird.
The study of the evolution of parental care is central to our understanding of social systems, sexual selection, and interindividual conflict, yet we know virtually nothing about the genetic architecture of parental care traits in natural populations. In this paper, we use data from a long term field study of a passerine bird, the long-tailed tit (Aegithalos caudatus), to examine the heritabili...
متن کاملMonitoring of Social Network and Change Detection by Applying Statistical Process: ERGM
The statistical modeling of social network data needs much effort because of the complex dependence structure of the tie variables. In order to formulate such dependences, the statistical exponential families of distributions can provide a flexible structure. In this regard, the statistical characteristics of the network is provided to be encapsulated within an Exponential Random Graph Model (...
متن کاملMonitoring of organic matter and soil salinity by using IRS - LissIII satellite data in the Harat plain, of Yazd province
Current study monitored Electerical Conductivity (EC) as soil salinity index and Organic Matter (OM) in the area of Harat in Yazd, Iran, through remote sensing technology with high spatial and spectral resolution. The images were selected from IRS, LISS III satellites between the years 2008 and 2012. After preprocessing and analyzing the images, the relationship between parameters of (EC) an...

After the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan, China, and its spread to other countries, confrontation with it as an international emergency in all countries was seriously on the agenda of governments. Our country was not immune to this outbreak. Effective measures to combat this new virus would be certainly based on a proper understanding of the epidemiological pattern and its evaluation i...
